Hello Dear Visitor,

My name is Carla. I was born in a small Mediterranean town, just a few minutes car drive from the beach, in the Spanish province of Alicante. Since I was little, art has always been very present in my life. It was something I enjoyed doing, especially during the summer holidays.

One of the things I remember most clearly is when my mother taught me how to colour properly with coloured pencils, without leaving any trace of the path the pencil had gone through during its colouring process. With this technique I learned that art needs to be done in a very conscious and delicate way.

During my school years Art was my favourite subject. I took it both at GCSE and Art A level. Then came the moment when I had to go to university along with a decision, what do I study?.

Another subject I enjoyed was physics and with the combination of both one career showed up: Architecture. So yes I decided to study Architecture.

During my university years I barely had the time to paint. This happened mainly because the class assignments consumed literally all of my time. Although I did learn another type of art using digital media and without a doubt all the knowledge I had gathered during my school years was reflected on the compositions I had to prepare.

I finally finished university back in 2019, but I didn’t start painting again back then. It wasn’t until a few months ago when I got a box of pencils as a birthday gift from my father and I thought: why did I stop doing the thing I enjoy the most? Since that week I haven’t stopped from thinking and planning new art projects.

Bienvenido Querido Visitante,

Mi nombre es Carla. Nací en un pequeño pueblo mediterráneo apenas unos minutos en coche de la playa, en la provincia de Alicante. Desde muy temprana edad, el arte ha estado muy presente en mi vida. Es algo que siempre he disfrutado, en especial durante las vacaciones de verano.

Una de las cosas que recuerdo con más nitidez es cuando mi madre me enseñó a colorear de forma correcta con lápices de colores, sin dejar huella de los trazos que dejaban los lápices durante el proceso de colorear. Con esta técnica aprendí que el arte debe de hacerse de una forma consciente y delicada.

Durante mis años en el colegio Arte fue mi asignatura favorita. Lo elegí tanto para mis GCSE (ESO británica) y en Arte A Level (Bachiller Británico). Después llegó el momento de ir a la universidad y tuve que hacerme la siguiente pregunta: ¿Qué estudio?

Otra asignatura que también disfrutaba era Física, y combinando ambas daba como resultado una carrera: Arquitectura. Entonces decidí estudiar Arquitectura.

Durante mi etapa universitaria apenas tenía tiempo para pintar. Esto se debía principalmente a que los trabajos académicos se comían prácticamente todo el tiempo que tenía disponible. Sin embargo, aprendí otro tipo de arte usando técnicas digitales, y sin ninguna duda todos los conocimientos que había adquirido durante mi etapa escolar se vieron reflejados en las composiciones que tenía que preparar.

Finalmente acabe la carrera en el 2019, pero no fue entonces cuando volví a pintar. No fue hasta hace unos meses cuando mi padre me regalo por mi cumple una caja de lápices y pensé: ¿Por qué deje de hacer aquello que más disfruto? Desde aquella semana no he parado de pensar y en planear nuevos proyectos artísticos.
